Ravindra Jadeja takes a Kapil Dev inspired catch AFP

Ravindra Jadeja, who was having a memorable day with the ball for India in the fifth and final Test versus England at Chennai, showed why he is one of the best fielders in the world. By then, Jadeja already had three-wickets under his kitty as he went on to prove his worth in gold as a fielder, after snatching Jonathan Bairstow s catch out of thin-air. Jadeja ran back towards the deep midwicket region keeping his eagle eyes over the ball and took a splendid running catch with both hands. This brought memories of former World Cup winning Indian captain Kapil Dev s catch from the final of the 1983 final, where he took a similar catch. Running backwards Dev shouted towards another fielder and ran fast as he can to the monumental wicket of Vivan Richards, who was looking to take the game away from India s grasp.

Jadeja claimed his career best 7 for 48, and in doing so registered his first-ever 10-wicket haul as India won by an innings and 75 runs to finish the series 4-0. He dismissed Alastair Cook for the sixth time in the series before heading to claim the wickets of Joe Root, Keaton Jennings, Moeen Ali,Ben Stokes, Stuart Broad and Jake Ball. India are 3-wickets away from a 4-0 series win, after wins at Visakhapatnam, Mohali and Mumbai. This is Kohli s fifth straight series win after winnings series against South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, and New Zealand.

After the Test series both teams will be involved in three-match One-Day International and three-match Twenty 20 series as well. The Limited-overs leg of the England tour of India 2016-17 will begin from January 10.
